Salary range: DOE Labor Grade 17 / $20.05 Per Hour (Based on Qualifications)

Job Description:
The City of Dover is currently seeking two (2) qualified applicants for the position of Motor Equipment Operator I in the Department of Water & Wastewater. This position operates motor equipment in support of city maintenance operators. This position is responsible for assigned tasks. This position will also work under direct supervision according to set procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Operates motor equipment to transport materials, tools, equipment, or personnel to job sites.
- Load or haul dirt or pick up debris from job sites.
- Operates specialized motor equipment to support City operations such as trash/refuse pick up, street paving, grass cutting, snow removal, street sanding, sewer cleaning, repair, and replacement, or other specialized operations.
- Requires work involving standing, walking or bending some of the time, exerting up to 25 pounds of force on a regular basis and 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Moderate dexterity in operating tools and mechanical equipment.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, sense of smell, depth perception and speaking.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training
A criminal background and driver’s license investigation will be required. Candidates may be given a job-related test during the interview.
