Facilities/Maintenance Specialist (12‑month position)

- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the maintenance field.
- Capable of performing manual labor, lifting heavy objects (up to 75–100 pounds), and operating machinery for extended periods.
- Must demonstrate a firm knowledge of guidelines and procedures pertaining to the role.
- Employment with the Academy of Dover is contingent upon successful completion of:
- Criminal Background Check
- Child Protection Registry
- TB Test
- Verification of Credentials and Past Employment
- Adhere to Academy Policies and Procedures
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of school buildings
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools.
- Care for outdoor areas such as lawns, playgrounds, and parking lots. Tasks include mowing, raking, snow removal, landscaping, and general upkeep
- Maintain and organize maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper storage and functionality
- Inspect the school premises regularly to identify issues requiring maintenance and repair
- Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment and building systems
- Maintaining and repairing school facilities including classrooms, restrooms, athletic fields, and playground equipment
- Adhering to health and safety regulations, including proper use of protective equipment
- Removing snow or other hazards from walkways and public areas to prevent accidents
- Keeping records of maintenance and repair work
- Responding quickly to emergency situations and executing evacuation plans if necessary
- Ensuring all utilities, such as electricity and water supply, are in good working condition
- Collaborate with staff members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
