Aircraft Operations Officer
The primary purpose of this position is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer position to serve as the Aircraft Operations Officer and/or Senior ART in the Operations Support Squadron or other flying squadron as appropriate with responsibility for staff guidance, Intelligence oversight (as appropriate), supervision on all operational training matters for this unit and provide oversight for the Life Support function.
Additionally, provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. The incumbent also performs duties of an aircrew officer on flying status.
DUTY 1:
Manages the unit flight training program for aircrew members. Analyzes unit training requirements and objectives, designs, develops, and implements training plans geared to attain and maintain the highest level of combat mission-ready proficiency of assigned crew members.
DUTY 2:
Prepares course materials for presentation to instructors and flight examiners. Conducts training on instructional methodology, student assessment, and training techniques to develop instructor proficiency.
DUTY 3:
Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs and controls the activities of the unit Life Support function.
DUTY 4:
As required, flies as an aircrew member. May perform duties as an additional duty flight examiner as deemed appropriate by the Aircraft Operations Officer. The nature of flying activities which the incumbent must master is dictated by war plans, enemy threats, classified intelligence gathering, and gaining MAJCOM training requirements.
