Housekeeping Position at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environment to help prevent the spread of infection and disease. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitizing, waste removal, and floor-care duties throughout patient and non-patient areas of the Medical Center while following established infection-control, safety, and departmental procedures.

• Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties in accordance with established schedules, organizational standards, and infection-control guidelines.
• Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, orderly, and sanitary condition.
• Completes waste stream removal and properly disposes of designated waste in accordance with established procedures.
• Cleans and services assigned areas throughout the Medical Center.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies within and between departments as needed.
• Performs a variety of housekeeping and environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat and sanitary condition.
• Safely operates assigned cleaning and floor-care equipment, including floor machines and buffers.
• Participates in a minimum of eight unit or department meetings annually.
• Follows established safety, sanitation, and infection-prevention procedures at all times.

Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.

Licenses and Credentials:
Experience Related experience 0-1 year preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely.
• Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
