SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIAN
DISTRICT
Position Summary
The School District is accepting applications for a District-Wide Substitute Custodian to provide custodial coverage on an as-needed basis across all school buildings. This position supports the daily operations of the district by ensuring facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition. The substitute custodian may be assigned to any school and any shift as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas
* Perform routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning
* Empty trash and recycling containers
* Assist with building setup and breakdown for school activities and events
* Follow all district safety procedures and proper use of custodial equipment and supplies
* Report maintenance, safety, or supply concerns to the Head Custodian or Facilities Office
* Provide assistance during weather-related events and emergency situations
* Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred
* Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred but not required
* Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
* Ability to work independently and follow instructions
* Strong attendance and punctuality required
* Must successfully pass required criminal history and background checks
Work Schedule
* On-call, as-needed basis
* Day, evening, and weekend shifts may be required
Compensation
* $22.00 per hour, in accordance with district substitute pay guidelines
