Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician, Installation Technician

Field Service Technician, Mechanical and Controls
Responsibilities- Conduct field service calls at customer sites to provide installation, commissioning, emergency repair, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits, and training services.
- Conduct site visit meetings with customers to explain job scope, review work completed, and conduct training with customer personnel.
- Achieve service delivery goals including response time, first‑time fix, and customer satisfaction rates.
- Communicate effectively with field service management and internal support teams to efficiently resolve customer issues.
- Ensure paperwork, timesheets, CRM entries, expenses and other supporting documentation are completed on time and to a high quality.
- Review customer files prior to departure for service calls.
- Troubleshoot equipment through listening to, observing mechanical/electrical devices in operation, and reviewing machine data to locate causes of issues.
- Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove and replace defective parts.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers via phone and email.
- Assist with customer escalations by providing the highest level of technical support both internally and externally as necessary.
- AA Degree or equivalent certificate from a college or technical school.
- Technical ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Two to five years or more experience in the packaging and/or automation industry in field service, engineering, or manufacturing functions.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a benefit.
- Technical writing experience is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have a major credit card or be able to obtain a company‑sponsored card. An up‑to‑date U.S. passport is required for potential travel outside the U.S.
- Travel requirements: this position is a road warrior; travel is 80% of the time, including overnight stays and weekends.
The employee must regularly stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day, walk frequently, use hands to manipulate tools, and lift or move objects up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentThe employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is usually moderate but at times loud. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
