Environmental Services Technician II

Advocate Health Care - 3815 Highland Avenue - Responsibilities:
Scrub, strip, polish and refinishes floors using appropriate equipment and supplies; operate various cleaning equipment including ringers, vacuum, electric floor machines, sweepers; clean or sanitize after emergency spills; analyze floor and carpet conditions to determine cleaning techniques; maintain hard surface floors and carpets; complete assigned tasks timely; seek additional tasks from group leader; operate and maintain equipment; keep work area clean and safe;

dispose of waste per hospital procedures (DOT/RSPA training); replace and transport sharps containers; collect soiled linen; remove and dispose rubbish; separate regular and recyclable trash; operate waste compactors; keep all containers clean; provide courteous and professional service to patients, families, and staff; utilize AIDET with internal and external customers; resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively; relocate furniture and arrange meeting spaces; cross-train on discharge room cleans and OR cleaning;

complete Housekeeping Aide duties as needed; attend mandatory meetings and trainings; maintain attendance and punctuality; request PTO per policy; notify department management of absences; lifting up to 35 pounds unaided, with equipment or a partner for heavier loads; other related duties as assigned; education/experience: high school diploma or GED or equivalent; 1-2 years housekeeping experience preferred; basic computer skills; operate small electrical equipment;

excellent customer service; ability to communicate in English; physical ability to walk, stand, bend, climb, and lift throughout shift.
