- Proactively solicit and handle group/catering opportunities for all participating properties.
- Handle group/catering opportunities not managed by the Event Booking Center.
- Up‑sell each opportunity and assign it to the correct brand/property to maximize revenue.
- Achieve personal and team revenue goals.
- Ensure business turnovers are completed properly and on time, adhering to brand standards.
- Drive customer loyalty through service excellence at every customer interaction.
- Collaborate with off‑property sales channels to coordinate and complement efforts.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
- Develop community relationships to grow the customer base for group/catering sales.
- Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide accurate, complete turnover information to Event Management.
- Respond to incoming opportunities that fall outside Event Booking Center parameters.
- Use negotiation and creative selling skills to close business and negotiate contracts.
- Utilize sales resources and administrative/support staff efficiently.
- Execute and support the operational aspects of booked business (proposals, contracts, correspondence).
- Identify new group/catering business to meet revenue goals.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitors, economics, supply and demand to sell effectively.
- Close the best opportunities based on market conditions and property needs.
- Monitor same‑day selling to maximize room revenue and control occupancy.
- Understand the property’s primary target customer and serve them accordingly.
- Support the Service and Relationship Strategy to drive customer loyalty.
- Provide exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty.
- Partner with Event Management/Operations to exceed customer expectations.
- Gather feedback from guests on product quality and service levels.
- Attend pre‑ and post‑convention meetings to understand group needs and collect feedback.
- High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related professional area.
- 2‑year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel or Restaurant Management, or a related major; no prior work experience required.
