Rate Information
- Starting pay rate for new hires is $17.00/hour
- Starting pay rate for new hires with a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is $20.40/hour
- Employees are hired into the established wage structure; pay is non‑negotiable
- Returning employees progress to the next wage step each year of consecutive service
- Working hours are Monday‑Friday, 7 am‑3 pm
- Ideal candidates will be available to work through December 2026
- Short‑term and long‑term schedules up to 40 hours per week are available
- Continuing work may be available beyond December, depending on workload and budget
- Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS) enrollment and contributions

Seasonal Maintenance Worker positions require working outdoors in all weather conditions, performing light to heavy manual labor and maintenance work, and operating a variety of hand tools and power equipment. The nature of this classification may subject the successful candidate to call‑ins during emergencies and/or irregular shifts.
- Operate Claw Chipper, Leaf Machine and Street Sweeper
- Operate power tools including chainsaw and circular saw
- Support sustainability initiatives such as food waste and Styrofoam collection
- Perform trash removal and equipment maintenance
- Assist with community special events as needed
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, forestry, or horticulture
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate
- Must successfully complete and pass a physical ability/lift test as a condition of hire
- Physical strength, agility, and endurance to perform all essential functions
- Ability to transfer and carry heavy objects
- Ability to exert in excess of 75‑125 lbs of force occasionally and/or 50‑100 lbs of force frequently
- Ability to maneuver over/under equipment and in small work areas while performing essential functions
- Ability to dig, bend, lift, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to demonstrate dexterity in the use of hands and feet
- Ability to walk long distances and/or work while standing for long periods of time
- Ability to perform tasks requiring stooping, bending, climbing ladders or stairs, etc.
- Ability to operate a variety of light and medium motorized vehicles
- Ability to work under emergency conditions in support of fire and police operations
- Ability to use appropriate protective clothing and equipment around hazardous chemicals or conditions
- Ability to use necessary protective clothing and equipment to avoid potential dangers from pesticides
