In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Technician – Environmental Services creates a sanitary, safe environment and enhances the appearance of the Facility.
What you will do- Exhibit each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards, holding self and others accountable and role‑modeling excellence.
- Cleans patient rooms and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens, and sanitizing all surfaces.
- Stocks paper items and other supplies in patient rooms as necessary or designated.
- Move furniture for repair or cleaning and set up meeting rooms.
- Assist in cleaning emergency spills/floods when observed or requested.
- Communicate proactively with all staff members in an accurate & timely manner.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Education:
High School Graduate or GED preferred. - Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with patients, visitors, and colleagues, and to verbalize approved scripting.
- Reading, basic math, and writing skills required.
- Knowledge of correct use of chemicals, their dilution, supplies, tools, and equipment. Must also know proper use and procedures to operate the steam sterilizer, grinding/shredding system, waste compactor, recycling compactor, and cardboard balers.
