Shift: Day Shift

• Maintain clean patient rooms and discharge units to meet hospital standards. This includes emptying trash and linen containers, dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, making beds, wiping horizontal surfaces and performing post‑occupancy checks.
• Maintain clean office and ancillary areas; participate in frequent quality control audits.
• Identify and perform special isolation cleaning according to established procedures.
• Keep cleaning carts, equipment and storage areas tidy.
• Replenish supplies of soap, tissues, towels, disposable items and other necessities.
• Report needed repairs of equipment, furniture, building and fixtures to the appropriate personnel.

• 7:00 am – 3:30 pm; rotating each other weekend and holiday.

• Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred; hospital standards experience desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to learn and use housekeeping chemicals and equipment safely.
• Ability to work with varying demands of patients, the public and other employees.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; courteous and diplomatic interactions with all staff, patients and public contacts.

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
