Position SummaryThis position will directly support the Director of Aviation Maintenance. Duties include supervised management of the Universityof Dubuque aircraft fleet for the maintenance director, maintaining the aircraft overhaul slope on a daily basis, coordinatingmaintenance activities internally and externally through phone andemail communications, monitoring aviation parts lists and stockagefor use in daily maintenance activities, monitoring MSDS sheets toinclude storage of chemicals in the hangars, and keeping the director of maintenance informed of all aircraft maintenance issuesand recommending maintenance activities.
Works with dispatch inkeeping an accurate, up-to-date list of flyable and non-flyableaircraft and where they are parked on the ramp, advise on whenaircraft become available for use, and place aircraft back intoservice upon completion of maintenance. Will assist the maintenancedirector with other duties as required in support of aviationmaintenance activities.
- Complete daily maintenance overhaul slope updates and advisedirector of pending overhauls
- Manage and coordinate flow of aircraft maintenance repairs
- Track, order and manage inventory for aircraft parts,consumables, and shop supplies
- Perform standard office duties such as filing, typing,answering phones, and distributing mail
- Update and manage aircraft maintenance databases and records toensure compliance and accuracy
- Maintain accurate logs for aircraft maintenance activities,costs, and compliance for management and regulatory authorities
- Maintain current hazardous material data sheets and OHSAcompliance requirements
- Coordinate internal and external maintenance activities foraircraft
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University'sMission
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Exceland Word, with the ability to manage complex data sheets and createwell-formatted documents
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize daily and special projects
- Ability to manage office activities
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to remain seated at a workstation for extended periodsof time
- Diploma Required;
Associate Degree Preferred - Office management experience
- Microsoft Office programs skills
- Mechanical aptitude preferred
