Housekeeper – Night Shift (Part Time)

Mercy One Dubuque, a Magnet‑designated hospital, is hiring a housekeeper for the night shift (11pm – 7:30am). The role supports a clean and safe environment for patients and staff throughout the facility.

• Maintain cleanliness of patient and non‑patient areas, including patient rooms, discharge units, and ancillary spaces.
• Perform surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, and moving of equipment.
• Empty trash and linen containers, dust, mop, and clean bathrooms and bed areas.
• Follow established protocols for isolation cleaning and other special procedures.
• Maintain clean carts, equipment, and janitor closet/storage areas; replenish supplies such as soap, tissues, towels, and disposable items.
• Report equipment, furniture, building, or fixture repairs to the appropriate person.
• Participate in frequent quality control audits.
• Work under direction from nursing or departmental supervisors as required.

• Previous janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hospital cleaning methods and procedures is desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to use and care for housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
• Capacity to adapt to varying patient, public, and staff demands, and to communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• High‑school graduate or equivalent preferred.
