HVAC Systems & Mechanical Support- Assist with inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems across campus, including heating, ventilation, cooling, and related building systems.
- Participate in hands-on training and mentorship under the Senior Campus Engineer to develop technical knowledge of HVAC systems, building infrastructure, preventative maintenance practices, and campus operations.
- Support preventative maintenance activities for HVAC and mechanical equipment to promote reliability, efficiency, and resident comfort.
- Learn to maintain and assist with operation of boilers, chillers, air handlers, fan coils, rooftop units, geothermal systems, thermostatic controls, and ventilation equipment.
- Assist with identifying maintenance concerns and communicating findings to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Perform general building maintenance including painting, patching, minor carpentry, and routine repairs.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of furnishings, facility equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Support repairs and upkeep to maintain safe, functional, and welcoming environments throughout campus.
- Assist with routine inspections and respond to maintenance requests as assigned.
- Read, interpret, and carry out work orders, preventative maintenance schedules, equipment manuals, and verbal instructions.
- Develop working knowledge of building systems, mechanical equipment, and campus infrastructure.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work documentation, and records as assigned.
- Prioritize assigned tasks and complete work in a timely and professional manner.
- Carry a phone and respond to maintenance calls or on-call responsibilities as assigned.
- Assist with grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, snow and ice removal, gardening, and seasonal outdoor tasks as needed.
- Support room set-ups, campus moves, and operational needs when assigned.
- Assist maintenance staff with projects, repairs, and departmental priorities.
- Follow established safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance staff and other departments to support campus operations.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Technical coursework, trade school education, HVAC training, or related mechanical experience preferred.
- Previous experience in maintenance, HVAC, construction, mechanical systems, facilities, or related skilled trades preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to develop advanced technical skills through hands-on training.
- Ability to work independently within established expectations while receiving training, coaching, and guidance
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A respectful, courteous, and service-oriented presence with residents, Sisters, staff, and guests.

- Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor.
- Repeated bending, stooping, climbing, and standing.
- Floor-to-waist lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, ladders, and varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and maintenance machinery.
- Use of required personal protective equipment.
- Employees are encouraged to provide their own safety shoes or boots.
- Employees requiring prescription eyewear must provide ANSI-approved prescription safety glasses when eye protection is required.
- Ability to successfully complete a respirator fit test; respirator provided as required by MSDS guidelines.
