Description

Operate a welder and cutting torch with the ability to weld flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts. Applicant must pass a bend test prior to job placement.

• Operate a welder and cutting torch with the ability to weld flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts.
• Repair equipment by replacing or adjusting sprockets, bearings, chains, shafts, motors, and gearboxes.
• Perform basic electrical tasks as needed.
• Provide and maintain own basic tools.
• Read blueprints, manuals, drawings, and rough sketches and follow verbal instructions to determine layout and sequence of operations.
• Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machine procedures.
• Maintain a professional attitude and composure with piler crews, shareholders, and other employees.
• Perform housekeeping duties: clean shop area and keep tools and equipment in good repair.
• Disassemble, relocate, and reassemble receiving equipment; splice belting; replace motors, gears, and bearings; and perform other shop duties as required.
• Work on other Ag Department equipment or projects as assigned by supervisors, including grounds upkeep/maintenance and environmental projects such as tile intake monitoring and beet disposal operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Pass a bend test prior to job placement.
• Pass a 6G weld test.
• Possess a Class A CDL Driver License to operate company vehicles, including a boom truck and trailer.
• Obtain NCCCO mobile crane certification.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts during the harvest season or as required.
• Physical capability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, or legs, including climbing ladders and stairways.
• Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 100 #.
