We are currently looking for a Full Time Maintenance Technician II to join our Museums and Libraries Historic Sites Section 1 team located at the Fort Washita working .

Summary:

Performs a variety of tasks to achieve a pleasant, safe and functional outdoor environment for Fort Washita.

Responsibilities:

* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner
- Greets and engages with a smile
- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes

* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities

* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment
- Maintains and promotes professionalism
- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards

* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.

* Maintains assigned tribal facilities and properties in a manner that is acceptable by the Chickasaw Nation

* Cleans buildings, picnic areas, and camp sites

* Proactively performs building maintenance, carpentry, and grounds keeping duties

* Maintains equipment/machinery, systems and building by completing preventive maintenance schedules

* Operates mowers, string trimmers, aerators, sprinklers, chain saws and other landscaping power and hand tools

* Cares for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing debris, trimming

* Mixes, sprays or spreads fertilizer onto grass, shrubs and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers/spreaders

* Plants seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, shrubs and decorative stones and applies mulch for protection using gardening tools

* Haul or spread topsoil

* Shovel snow/ice from walks, driveways, parking lots and spread salt in needed areas

* Properly maintain, repair and store landscaping tools and equipment per approved procedures

* Maintains various logs including, but not limited to:
Equipment repair, inventory, vehicle usage/repair and fuels logs

* Ensures maintenance of clean, organized workspace/s centered on efficiency and safety at all times

* Inspect Fort Washita property including but not limited to checking buildings, picnic areas, roads, trails and fences

* Conducts periodic rounds of facility/park to check for security of structure, contents, and public safety

* Performs all other duties as assigned
