Groundskeeper

SUMMARY OF POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITY

The Groundskeeper at Allied Stone is responsible for the exterior upkeep of Allied Stone’s facilities. This will include duties such as landscaping, mowing grass, and related tasks. This position is part-time; it will work 24 hours a week or less.

• Maintain the lawns of the Allied Stone facility
• Perform landscaping tasks including mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, picking up trash, trimming overgrown tree limbs, cleaning gutters, raking leaves, and other duties as needed
• Perform building exterior maintenance as needed.
• Spray for pests/insect control.
• Plant trees, shrubs, or other vegetation as directed.
• Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on groundskeeping equipment.
• Keep work areas clean, functional, and free of obstacles and hazards.
• Maintain accurate records of facilities maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Take inventory of parts, equipment, tools, and/or other items necessary for repairs and maintenance and recommended restocking as needed.
• Communicate needs for extensive work/repairs to maintenance department.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines.

• Required
  
  Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
• Required Experience:
  • 1+ years of previous landscaping, groundskeeping, facilities maintenance, or related experience

• Knowledge:
  • Basic understanding of landscaping practices.
• Skills:
  • Proficient problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Abilities:
  • Ability to work with machinery and equipment safely for extended periods.
  • Stamina to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Dexterity and precision for executing maintenance tasks.

This position will be performed outdoors and will involve exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and various weather conditions. The employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots.

This position will involve frequent squatting, twisting, and lifting of objects weighing 25 to 50lbs, as well as walking and/or standing for extended periods of time.

There may be minimal travel required for training or other business needs.
