Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The Tennis Court Maintenance Team member is responsible for the daily upkeep of the tennis courts. The tennis maintenance staff makes certain that the necessary equipment for the maintenance and upkeep of the courts is on hand and properly maintained. They are responsible for managing those functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees and Board of Directors of the YMCA.
Responsibilities- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Ensures the facility and grounds are attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment including but not limited to:
- Maintains courts to identify trouble areas, brush courts, refresh court lines, remove and discard extra clay and water courts as needed
- Empties trash cans
- Fills water coolers with water and cups
- Puts up and takes down umbrellas
- Wipes down tables
- Performs weekly maintenance as indicated on the weekly schedule which may include but not be limited to:
Reports needed repairs to the Facility Maintenance Director.- Rolls courts
- Hard brushes lines
- Pulls nets up and removes debris and materials from underneath
- Cleans off bricks
- Sweeps entrances
- Cleans cooler
- Removes tables and water stands and sweeps/rolls area
- Sanitizes back of courts
- Checks wind Screens
- Organizes cleaning supplies.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensures building and property is secure during shift and report incidents of hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Six months or more of related experience preferred.
- Minimum age requirement is 16 years old.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Multi-lingual desired but not required.

- Ability to participate in a range of activities in an outdoor settings.
- Ability to clock in and out for shifts in a timely fashion using an online format.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, or special accommodations made of sufficient nature for completion of assigned tasks.
- Ability to communicate clearly through speech.
- Ability to walk, run, stand, kneel, stoop, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Compliance with all COVID related PPE, cleaning, reporting and prevention expectations efforts. Further training and detail will be provided upon question and/or hire.
