Qualla Enterprises LLC Security Technician – Cherokee, NC – Full time
Ensure functionality of security and surveillance systems
Description Primary FunctionThe Security Technician is an entry‑level position within the Qualla Enterprises, LLC organizational structure and is established to aid the organization in its Security and Safety functions. This position assists in the daily security department operations to ensure the safety and functionality of Tribal assets, employees and persons on the properties owned or operated by Qualla Enterprises LLC.

Pay Grade / FLSA StatusH10/Non‑exempt
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in electrical or a related field preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of related work experience in Security Systems installation including fire/security alarms, access control, CCTV. Field required.
- Previous experience with networking and data communications preferred.
- Previous experience in low voltage electrical required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Follow Security and Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance on safety regulations.
- Work with vendors regarding operational problems, repair, maintenance, configuration, and/or testing of Security Systems.
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Installation of equipment to ensure all areas have adequate CCTV coverage, fire and intrusion detection.
- Support personnel engaged in installation, testing, configuration, maintenance and repair.
- Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
- Monitor and repair equipment at the facility.
- Follow emergency response procedures for security breaches; document and report issues to management and implement strong security measures.
- Maintain knowledge of current laws, policies and procedures.
- Notify and coordinate with management and local law enforcement in the event of a security breach.
- Maintain logs of operations by filing paper and electronic documents.
- Provide daily reports of general information required by policy.
- Ensure full compliance with state, federal and tribal laws for reporting and safety requirements.
- Maintain strong working relationships with other employees of Qualla Enterprises LLC and Tribal employees.
- Keep timetables as it relates to policy and procedure of Qualla Enterprises LLC.
- Set up workstations with computers and data equipment (routers, switches, access points, etc.) as needed.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.) as needed.
- Ensure servers, load‑balancers, and data storage are maintained across different locations as needed.
- Install, update, and configure appropriate software, hardware and functions according to specifications as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Able to focus on multiple duties at the same time.
- Must be detail oriented with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Must have a neat appearance with good personal hygiene.
- Ability and knowledge to use tools required for duties.
- Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.

- Knowledge of county, state, and federal regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, grasp, reach, twist.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to operate machinery including but not limited to: all‑terrain vehicles (ATV), company vehicles, scissor lifts, etc.
