Custodian Grade 58 – $16.07 – $21.69 per hour;
Bus Driver Grade 58 – $16.07 – $21.69 per hour

Job type:
Full time, 8 hours per day, 10 months per year, benefit eligible. Dual employment position; must meet requirements for both positions.

• Perform custodial duties: cleaning and maintaining buildings, grounds, floor stripper, waxer, power buffer, etc.
• Drive school bus as directed, transport students to/from school.
• Independent tasks such as delivery of supplies, material, and equipment; minor equipment repairs; report maintenance needs.
• Maintain the building at all times, perform heavy lifting, follow written and oral instructions, keep records.
• Follow safe operation rules for the school bus and supervise custodian staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a drug test, background check, and TB test before starting employment.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record to qualify for NCCDL and bus operation.
• Compliance with rules governing safe operation of a school bus.
• Ability to work independently and supervise custodian staff.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions, read, write, keep records, perform simple calculations.
• Capacity to perform heavy work: lift over 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, 20 lbs constantly.
• Physical ability to use cleaning equipment, lift and climb ladders.
• General knowledge of maintenance requirements of buildings.
• Willingness to clean after students.
• Ability to identify cleaning needs and address with supplies.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
