Maintenance/Construction Supervisor II (NS)
Position Number: | Grade: NC14
Location:
Bertie Correctional Institution.
- Supervision and coordination of maintenance of the physical plant.
- Ensure facility is maintained safely and efficiently.
- Directly supervise a large group of maintenance personnel, assign and review work.
- Assist with administration of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
- Prepare personnel, equipment, and work performance inventories and reports.
- Serve as backup for the Facility Maintenance Manager.
- Provide training to subordinate staff on skill level and workplace safety.
- Maintain direct contact with the Facility Maintenance Manager and provide timely information.
- Participate in facility inspections as required.
- Report or stay over during adverse weather events.
- High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction.
- Experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades.
- At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance, and/or repair of buildings and facilities.
- Competent knowledge of commercial/industrial maintenance practices; tools, equipment, and materials used in building and mechanical trades.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Pass a criminal background check, negative drug screening, medical and psychological evaluations, and meet Criminal Justice Standards (12 NCAC 09G .0302).
- May require EPA Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician certification per 40 CFR part 82, subpart
F.
