Maintenance/Construction Supervisor II (NS)

Location:

Bertie Correctional Institution.

• Supervision and coordination of maintenance of the physical plant.
• Ensure facility is maintained safely and efficiently.
• Directly supervise a large group of maintenance personnel, assign and review work.
• Assist with administration of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
• Prepare personnel, equipment, and work performance inventories and reports.
• Serve as backup for the Facility Maintenance Manager.
• Provide training to subordinate staff on skill level and workplace safety.
• Maintain direct contact with the Facility Maintenance Manager and provide timely information.
• Participate in facility inspections as required.
• Report or stay over during adverse weather events.

• High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction.
• Experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades.
• At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance, and/or repair of buildings and facilities.
• Competent knowledge of commercial/industrial maintenance practices; tools, equipment, and materials used in building and mechanical trades.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pass a criminal background check, negative drug screening, medical and psychological evaluations, and meet Criminal Justice Standards (12 NCAC 09G .0302).
• May require EPA Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician certification per 40 CFR part 82, subpart
