Job Summary
The Facilities Engineering Department is responsible for maintaining the site infrastructure to support cGMP operations. The Facilities Technician II installs, operates, maintains, and modifies all KBI Biopharma site systems, performs troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and assists in documentation and improvement initiatives. The role supports 24/7 operations, including a night shift (2‑2‑3) and occasional on‑call duties.
Job Responsibilities- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and utility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair facilities, equipment, and systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) using manuals, SOPs, and safety procedures.
- Provide recommendations for improving maintenance of existing and new systems and assist with root‑cause investigations.
- Prepare maintenance, quality, and other documentation following good documentation practices, including deviations, CAPA, change controls, and SOP revisions.
- High School diploma or equivalent, with hands‑on or vocational training.
- 2 to 5 years of general maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent training and experience.
- Preferred A.S./A.A. degree in Mechanical/Utilities technology or related fields.
- Experience or certification with general utility systems, boilers, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems;
Universal CFC Refrigeration License preferred. - Prior experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to read instructions, write correspondence, and handle inquiries.
- Reasoning and problem‑solving skills to interpret instructions and seek assistance when necessary.
- Basic math skills including rate, ratio, and percent calculations.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and stand while working on equipment and facility systems.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and E‑mail.
- Experience with CMMS or BMRAM preferred.
- SAP experience preferred.
