Job Summary:

The primary role of a Maintenance Tech I is to support Facilities & Maintenance by completing assigned preventive maintenance, inspections, basic repairs, and work orders for facility systems, utilities, and production support equipment. This position works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor while helping maintain safe, reliable, and audit-ready operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

(Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

+ High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical school coursework or trade training preferred.

+ Professional attitude with the ability to work effectively with maintenance, production, engineering, contractors, and leadership.

+ Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to use the CMMS/work order system.

+ Proficient with common hand and power tools used in facility and equipment maintenance.

+ Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, utility, and building systems.

+ Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, basic troubleshooting, and corrective repairs under direction.

+ Ability to follow plant rules, PPE requirements, Environmental, Health & Safety policies, and Lock out/Tag out procedures.

+ Ability to assist with facility repairs, equipment moves, parts handling, and production support needs as directed.

+ Forklift certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification if required.

+ Detail-oriented, organized, and able to complete assigned work safely, accurately, and on time.

+ Willingness to complete e-learning, classroom training, and on-the-job training as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Responds to assigned work requests, equipment concerns, facility needs, and maintenance support calls with urgency.

+ Completes assigned preventive maintenance, routine inspections, adjustments, basic repairs, and equipment checks.

+ Documents completed work, findings, parts used, and follow-up needs in the CMMS/work order system.

+ Inspects facility areas, utilities, equipment, and work areas; reports unsafe conditions, deficiencies, and reliability concerns.

+ Performs basic repairs to building systems, fixtures, lighting, plumbing, compressed air, water, drains, grounds, and related facility infrastructure.

+ Assists Maintenance Tech II and Senior Maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting, disassembly, repair, parts replacement, testing, and return-to-service activities.

+ Supports equipment moves, utility additions, parts handling, production layout changes, and setup activities as directed.

+ Uses tools, ladders, lifts, meters, and maintenance equipment safely and in accordance with department expectations.

+ Follows Lock out/Tag out, PPE, housekeeping, lift, fall protection, and other safety requirements.

+ Escalates equipment failures, repeat issues, parts shortages, and abnormal conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor or higher-level technicians.

+ Supports vendors and contractors by helping provide access, escorting as directed, and reporting work progress or concerns.

+ Maintains maintenance work areas, tools, parts areas, and storage spaces in an organized and audit-ready condition.

+ Participates in training and on-the-job learning to build capability toward Maintenance Tech II level performance.

+ Performs other facilities and maintenance duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

+ Limited local travel will be required.

+ Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have constant control over workflow.

+ Must be able to lift 45lbs.

+ Manual dexterity to operate digital equipment, including computers, HMIs, and other such equipment with small fine buttons and operators.

+ Routinely walking around in a production environment wearing PPE
