Custodian Lead. Custodian Lead position is a team member of the Wisconsin Union
-Facilities Custodian Team. Lead worker duties that include assisting in training new employees, inspect progress and quality of building services. Basic duties include routine maintenance and cleaning, trash removal, and snow removal. Other duties will be assigned as needed. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor. Applicants may be used for future opening also.

  • Shift hours are 3rd Shift, 10pm - 6:30pm (Union South) or 10:30pm - 7pm (Memorial Union), days of week worked will rotate. 40 hours per week。

  • Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors。
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
  • Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
  • Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
  • Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
  • Schedules, monitors, and communicates with staff and assists with basic training
  • Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
  • Responds to facility emergency and hazardous situations, and escalates incidents according to established policies and procedures

Compensation
  • $18.91 per hour
  • Plus an additional $2.50 per hour for night hours worked (6pm-6am)
  • Plus an additional $0.80 per hour for weekend hours worked
  • Plus Time and a half per hour for hours worked on designated legal holidays
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, stoop and climb for the majority of the shift, including extended periods of continuous physical activities with or without an accommodation
  • Ability to lift and move supplies, equipment and material regularly up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to remove snow and ice outside during cold weather
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working at same position for 3 months or more
Preferred Education

High School Diploma preferred
