Critical Operations Associate
The Critical Operations Associate monitors operations and conducts routine assessment of building systems, operations, and performance. The role assists customers on the Data Center floor and via telephone, supports customer equipment installs, provides support on low and medium priority tickets in the ticketing system, escalates alerts and/or customer requests to senior technicians, and completes other assigned tasks. Shift work hours are required to support a 24x7x365 data center environment.
Responsibilities- Monitor building systems and operations to ensure they function as designed.
- Assist customers in person and by phone, provide support for equipment installs.
- Create, update, and close tickets in the established ticketing system to address customer calls, facility, network, and system related alerts.
- Conduct routine facility tours to verify equipment operation and compliance.
- Respond to building emergencies and customer requests as required.
- Comply with departmental policy for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Apply learning, knowledge, skills, and company policies to wide-ranging tasks involving IT, electrical, mechanical equipment, controls, and operating systems.
- High school diploma, technical college degree, or equivalent professional experience.
- One or more years of technical training, military training, or equivalent professional work experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Must agree to successfully complete all career pathing qualifications for the Critical Operation Associate and COTI within two years of start date.
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and/or network infrastructure concepts and theory.
- One or more years of work experience in a mission‑critical or similar environment.
- Customer focus with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all organizational levels.
- Team‑oriented and collaborative.
- Analytical ability to determine causes of problems and take corrective action.
- Able to pass job‑related skills assessments based on pre‑determined scoring criteria and time frames.
- Computer skills and familiarity with MS Office, Outlook, and web‑based applications.
- Ability to acquire and apply job‑related knowledge within set guidelines and expectations.
