Role Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Eagle River, WI. This position is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Day‑to‑day tasks include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, completing scheduled inspections, conducting repairs and adjustments, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of hospital and facility equipment.

The role also involves documenting work performed, following safety and regulatory standards, coordinating with clinical and non‑clinical departments to minimize downtime, and supporting facility improvement projects. The Maintenance Mechanic works collaboratively with the facilities team, responds to maintenance requests in a timely manner, and participates in on‑call or shift coverage as needed.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance for healthcare or similar facilities.
  • Proficiency in Preventive Maintenance, including scheduled inspections, servicing, and system monitoring.
  • Experience with Corrective Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair, including troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.
  • Knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems; ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Commitment to safety practices, regulatory compliance, and quality standards in a healthcare environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate work with clinical and support staff.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a maintenance mechanic or in facilities operations, ideally in healthcare or a complex building setting.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in varied environmental conditions, following safety guidelines.
