Job Overview

Housekeeper, National Health Care Associates – East Hartford, CT.

What You’ll Do

As a Housekeeper, you will create a clean, healing environment that improves the comfort and well‑being of residents, guests, and team members. This entry‑level position offers the opportunity to earn while learning about long‑term care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing common areas and resident rooms
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas
  • Dispose of trash and waste
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed
  • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a safe and organized environment
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and staff
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machines, vacuums, etc.

Qualifications

Qualifications of a Housekeeper include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Knowledge of cleaning protocols, infection control, fire prevention, and safety measures in long‑term care is highly valued but not required; training will be provided
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
