About
The Role
Our client is hiring an engineering-focused Autonomous Vehicle Test & Service Technician to help keep a fleet of fully autonomous vehicles ready for testing, demonstrations, and safe on-road use. This is a hands-on, in-person role based in East Liberty, Ohio, where you will support vehicle readiness through diagnostics, maintenance, repair coordination, fleet reworks, and overall workshop operations.
This role matters because it sits at the intersection of fleet operations, vehicle service, and engineering support. You will work closely with shop leadership, internal teams, business partners, and engineering groups to identify issues, document findings, escalate complex problems when needed, and help maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and operational readiness.

Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, inspections, and maintenance according to work instructions and document findings in a specialized service platform.
- Complete scheduled and preventative maintenance services to support fleet readiness.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and system checks and make recommendations to improve vehicle safety and reliability.
- Inspect and test completed work as a quality control measure after each job.
- Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.
- Support demonstration and testing readiness by partnering with shop leadership to keep vehicles in a ready state.
- Perform diagnostics and escalate issues to the appropriate engineering team when required.
- Coordinate and help drive the repair process from diagnosis through completion.
- Create and support diagnostic test plans as needed by the team.
- Maintain service records and document quality field reports.
- Assist with parts and tools inventory, storage, and organization.
- Help maintain shop facilities, equipment, and workspace in safe and productive working condition.
Minimum Requirements :
- 2 to 4+ years of technician experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
- Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in vehicle service and repair
- Valid driver’s license with a clean or excellent driving record
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented, reliable, and self-directed work style
- Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sit or stand for extended periods of 8+ hours
- Ability to operate or learn required shop equipment, including forklift and/or gantry systems
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of prior technician experience
- In-depth experience with electrical systems and ADAS
- Experience in an automotive-focused engineering or research lab such as dyno or battery environments
- Knowledge of CAN systems, wiring diagrams, and soldering
- Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair
