  • $16.50 - $21.00 per hour (depending on qualifications) + opportunity for end of the season bonus! ($0.50 for every hour worked)

  • Reports to Water Treatment Plant Supervisor & takes work direction from Water Treatment Plant Lead Operator
  • Located at Water Treatment Plant (14100 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344)
  • Typical hours are Monday
    - Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm

Responsibilities

The Water Treatment Plant Maintenance Technician supports the Water Treatment team to effectively provide safe and high-quality drinking water to the public. The Water Treatment Plant is a component of the Utilities Division which is responsible for water, sewer, and drainage infrastructure systems in the community. This position is responsible for the following areas of impact:

  • Maintenance and janitorial tasks within the treatment plant & well houses, including cleaning, painting, housekeeping, restocking supplies, errands and light maintenance duties.
  • Monitoring and patrol for lawn watering violators.
  • Grounds keeping tasks including watering, trimming and weed control.
  • Office duties including light receptionist/clerical tasks, assisting vendors, organizing and filing paperwork, assisting with maintenance documentation.
  • Demonstrates safe operation and maintenance of hand/power tools, power equipment, light duty vehicles and equipment, and practicing safe work habits in and around and traffic on roadways.
  • While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older, related experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) required. Valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record, required.
  • This position requires the ability to lift/carry/push/pull 30-50 lbs, operate a motor vehicle and work under all weather conditions.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, driver’s license check, work verification and education verification if applicable.
