Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Position Summary

Heat Treating Technician – based in Eden Prairie, MN. The role performs essential heat‑treating job functions under the direction of the Production Manager, including assisting other employees as needed.

Working hours:

3 pm – 11:30 pm, 40 + hours per week. This position is safety‑sensitive. Candidates must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and a basic physical. This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign‑on retention bonus.

• Level C:
  Entry Level (0‑24 months) – Assists with operations, control, and monitoring of heat‑treating equipment and related procedures.
• Level B:
  Mid Level (2‑3 years) – Operates, controls, and monitors heat‑treating equipment independently, following written procedures.
• Level A:
  Senior Level (3‑5 years) – Independently operates, controls, and monitors heat‑treating equipment, leads initiatives, mentors junior personnel, and makes strategic contributions.

• Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
• Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• Ensures safe and responsible care of customer inventory to prevent loss or damage.
• Reports to work on time, follows directions, interacts effectively with co‑workers, and accepts constructive criticism.

• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident (ITAR compliance).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of metallurgy and temperature control.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or any shift as required.
• Forklift operation certification (required).
• Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).

• Work in a standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.
• Bend, pull, stoop, and reach as required.
• Lift up to 35 lbs.
• Potential exposure to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
• Requires cognitive and mental capacity for essential job functions.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Adequate visual acuity to read documents and screens.
• Good hearing in person and via phone.
