Lunds & Byerlys Mitchell Road is currently hiring for a self-directed and outgoing Maintenance Technician
. This position works a full-time schedule and earns a competitive wage $30.00-$40.00/hr.
We operate 24 hours/day and 365 days/year. Availability required: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Job SummaryThis role is responsible for performing routine and non-routine types of preventive and ongoing maintenance, including repairs in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and machine servicing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Follow equipment and tool maintenance guidelines for preventive and routine maintenance to assure product quality, availability, and freshness.
- Maintain inventory reports of equipment, parts, and service manuals.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and tools, ensuring compliance with company, city, state, and federal regulations.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, reporting unsafe conditions.
Job Duties (Not Essential)
- Perform all other related assignments and special projects as needed.
- Education: Completion of a two-year technical degree or equivalent knowledge. Desired:
Bachelor’s degree or certification in automation technology, packaging, or manufacturing systems. - Licensing and
Certifications:
Certification in one or more maintenance-related trade (refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, millwright, plumbing, machining, etc.); forklift/scissor lift certification; boiler license;
Hazwoper; lock-out/tag-out. - Experience: Five or more years’ experience in packaging and food-processing repair and troubleshooting; experience with CMMS and PM systems; HVAC and ammonia system experience.
- Competencies: Action-oriented, effective communication, customer focus, and trust building.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: High-energy, service-oriented, positive demeanor; ability to follow food, personal, safety, and sanitation guidelines; compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, and AIB; prioritize changing priorities; weld with MIG, TIG & STICK; work independently; computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word); read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints; mechanical and electrical troubleshooting; strong customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, time management, organization; provide own tools;
read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
