Who You AreYou’re a technical and engineering expert, familiar with maintenance systems and equipment. You bring strong organizational skills, a customer‑centric approach and a positive outlook to everything you do.
As the Building Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the maintenance systems are running efficiently to ensure the safety of our clients and their properties. You’ll respond to client requests, prioritize and assign work orders, and follow up to ensure minimal downtime. You like to be proactive by conducting regular inspections, alarm testing, and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
You also know how to develop and maintain strong relationships with property managers, suppliers and department leaders. With a keen eye for details, you’ll be able to successfully manage multiple priorities and reports, including inventory, records, and schedules.
What You Bring- At least 3‑5 years of experience in building/property maintenance or engineering.
- Solid working knowledge of HVAC systems/maintenance, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems and other building mechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Flexibility to be on‑call to respond to after‑hours or weekend emergency requests.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of work order and preventative maintenance software systems.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- You maintain and check daily operating logs for air conditioning units, fan units, graph charts, utility meters, and general complaints.
- You ensure that building systems and tenant service requests are handled efficiently at the most economical cost.
- You assist in the development of the annual budget and RFP process for budgeted projects.
- You demonstrate a clear understanding of operating procedures and proper chemical treatment levels for cooling towers and boilers.

Location:
Edina, MN. Approximate compensation range for this role: $32.59/hour to $40/hour. Our compensation ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all national locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Employees (and their families) are provided options for employer‑subsidized medical benefits including RX, dental, vision, as well as employer‑paid basic life/AD&D insurance and short‑term / long‑term disability. Employees can enroll in our company’s 401(k) plan with an employer match. Employees receive 10 days of sick leave, a minimum of 15 days of vacation annually, 10 paid holidays plus two personal flex days per year.
Certain senior‑level roles are eligible for unlimited time off. Employees also receive twelve weeks of paid parental leave for birth parents and four weeks for non‑birth parents including adoptive/foster parents after 90 days of employment. Individuals may be eligible for additional benefits under applicable state law.
