Job Summary
The PT Maintenance II-Edinborough is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds, and handling all cleaning and custodial duties at Edinborough Park. The role includes assisting in setting up, cleaning, and tearing down all recreational events, and providing customer service to Park guests. This is a weekend position working every other weekend, with the possibility to start the position or be promoted to Maintenance III ($21.57–25.89 hr) with CPO certification and experience.
Scopeof Impact
Duty and responsibility are performed with latitude for independent judgment in accordance with Department and City policies, Federal, State and Local regulations. Work is subject to periodic review by the supervisor, who provides approval of recommendations and discusses assignments, priorities, and work.
Shift Schedule- Saturday 5 AM – 1:30 PM
- Sunday 5 AM – 1:30 PM
Position is eligible to pick up open shifts from either morning or evening schedules and any days for sick or vacation time.

- Safe and Sick Time – Employee earns one hour of sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked and can earn a maximum of 48 hours each year unless the employer agrees to a higher amount. Must work at least 80 hours in a year for an employer in Minnesota. Can be used for: the employee’s mental or physical illness, treatment or preventive care;
a family member’s mental or physical illness, treatment or preventive care; absence due to domestic abuse, sexual assault or stalking of the employee or a family member; closure of the employee’s workplace or a family member’s school or care facility due to weather or public emergency; or when determined by a health authority that the employee or a family member is at risk of infecting others with a communicable disease. - Eligible to start the position or be promoted to Maintenance III with CPO certification and experience
- Time and a half pay for time worked on General Holidays if the facility is open
- Maintains cleanliness and aesthetics throughout the Park
- Cleans bathrooms and locker rooms, including fixtures, trash and floors
- Washes park floor, vacuums, cleans and scrubs carpets and mats
- Sanitizes vomit, blood, feces, urine and food spills and accidents
- Removes trash, composting and recycling
- Cleans and maintains 500‑gal interior pond
- Cleans windows, entryways, doors, etc.
- Removes snow with shovels, brooms and blowers
- Cleans Adventure Peak Playground and Gym Play Area
- Cleans pads, rollers, steps, slides and surrounding areas
- Inspects for safety and damage
- Informs Maintenance Supervisor when equipment needs replacement
- Provides customer service and leadership to other staff and guests
- Demonstrates ability to problem‑solve and resolve customer issues
- Uses good judgement to provide excellent customer service
- Enforces park policies and procedures with guests
- Maintains Indoor Pool
- Cleans and maintains equipment
- Monitors and changes chemicals as needed (if qualified with CPO certification)
- Hand vacuums pool or uses automated pool vacuum regularly
- Performs maintenance on building and equipment
- Replaces ceiling tiles as needed
- Assists with parties and events
- Coordinates and assists with set‑up and tear‑down for parties
- Oversees and tears down equipment for programming in the 300‑seat amphitheater
- May help set up and tear down interior and exterior holiday decorations
- Stocks concession area and assists with operations and deep cleaning
- Performs other duties as assigned
High school diploma, general maintenance/custodial experience, and customer service experience.
Desired QualificationsCertified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facilities Operator training, or ability to obtain within one year of hire, is desired. Technical training in building maintenance including HVAC, plumbing and electrical is preferred. Experience providing maintenance in a public recreation facility is also desired.
