Job description (pending board approval) PRIMARYPURPOSE:
Responsible for overseeing the daily custodial operations of assigned school. The lead custodian manages a team of custodial staff, that ensures a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. The lead custodian will coordinate cleaning schedules, maintain equipment and supplies, coordinate basic facility repairs, uphold charter standards for cleanliness and safety, and serve as the initial point of contact for facility maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED certificate - preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and properly handle cleaning supplies
- Ability to lift heavy equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and maintenance procedures
- Ability to operate and train others in the use of custodial equipment and cleaning products safely
- Ability to supervise and lead custodial staff effectively
- Strong communication and organizational skills
3 years in custodial service in a school setting
