Position: Critical Facility Technician (8pm-6am)

Job Overview

Critical Facilities Technician in a 24x7 data center environment. Responsibilities include maintenance and oversight of electrical, HVAC, and building management systems, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting power, cooling, security and support systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively support safety of environment & occupants, ensuring all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
  • Monitor critical power, cooling/environmental, security & support systems to meet or exceed uptime service levels.
  • Perform limited maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operation of data center heating and cooling systems and overall facility.
  • Monitor, resolve and update all assigned service tickets using IMDC’s ticketing system, including trouble tickets and customer installations of electrical and physical equipment.
  • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment and inspect buildings, grounds, and all equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning operation.
  • Proactively identify issues and take needed steps to resolve them.
  • Assist with service delivery tasks when needed.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • 0-2 years experience in a critical operations environment and/or data center experience preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Chiller Plant systems—Trane, York, Multi Stack, Web Control BMS, STS switches, and UPS maintenance bypass.
  • Experience with Google Sheets and Google Classroom.
  • Multi tasking ability—use several systems to manage ticket queues and adapt to changing work tasks.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow documented processes and Iron Mountain’s safety code.
  • Organization & prioritization skills—manage time with minimal supervision to complete work efficiently and on time.
  • Dedication and desire to learn, with a goal to grow your career within Iron Mountain.
  • Customer service mentality—customer obsessed outlook.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a security clearance via government or other agency background check may be required for customer support.
  • U.S. citizenship required to meet all customer-contracting requirements.

Work Hours and Overtime

Working hours are varied. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. Opportunities for overtime work will be available.

Salary Range

Reasonably expected salary range: $64,800.00 - $81,000.00. Note that an employee's starting salary may vary based on a variety of factors, and employees are entitled to the higher of the federal or applicable local minimum wage if the latter exceeds the federal minimum.
