Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician II will help lead a team to provide a safe and well‑maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This role supports the Facility Manager (FM) to ensure stores are ready for business each day.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform both on-demand and planned monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual Preventive Maintenance on all critical and non-critical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Store Operations.
  • Operate and monitor building controls, critical and non-critical building systems, and associated equipment.
  • EMCS command:
    Troubleshoot alarms, verifying proper building operation.
  • Lead equipment and building rounds & readings.
  • Identify, mitigate, and report building systems and equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as parts ordering, PO# creation, vendor management, and attending relevant job meetings or project meetings.
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Act as a safety champion for adherence to safety and health rules by following proper LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, and machine guarding.
  • Act as the face of the facilities business in lieu of the FM by attending store meetings, vendor/project meetings.
  • Document and share notes on outcomes.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation and delegate to and mentor other technicians on system accuracy.
  • Assist the FM with technical training of new employees on equipment and/or building systems.
  • Respond to location emergencies.
  • Update the CMMS as needed to maintain maintenance procedures and accurate equipment historical records.
  • Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and assist in work with outside contractors, vendors, and Property Managers/Landlords.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED;
    Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college preferred.
  • 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience with an emphasis in mechanical maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience with HVAC and refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills to perform facilities and equipment repairs.
  • Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions, low voltage signal tracing, and troubleshooting of logical devices.
  • Work independently and meet multiple deadlines without supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, and able to communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Highly self-motivated and dedicated to working in a safe, customer-focused manner.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and applications.
  • Previous experience with a CMMS and ordering system (Coupa).
  • Knowledge of computer networking systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience with electromechanical operation and maintenance.
  • Project Management experience a plus.
  • Able to maintain a flexible schedule: days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours may be required.
Physical Requirements

Stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and the ability to lift or carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $23.75 - $41.25 per hour. Pay offers depend on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may differ by location.
