The Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is to assist in the general operational maintenance and repair of the community’s physical location and to communicate and help coordinate the necessary tasks to accomplish repairs to building and equipment systems.

Schedule:

M‑F 8am – 5pm. Position may be required to work weekends and/or holidays as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance work on community equipment, building and grounds (equipment repairs, apartment painting, etc.).
  • Understand HVAC and other mechanical systems and properly maintain them.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the building, grounds and equipment and perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform proactive preventative maintenance as scheduled and record data in preventative maintenance logs.
  • Help assure that other team members follow established safety practices (OSHA).
  • Follow the established work order system.
  • Participate in in‑service training as required by state regulations.
  • Maintain the general appearance of the building, including assisting with event set up and cleanup.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior work experience in maintenance of at least 3 years.
  • Experience working in maintenance with property management, lodging, or Senior Living/Assisted Living/Memory Care is a plus.
  • Must possess excellent mechanical skills (HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.).
  • Communicates effectively with the Maintenance Director, staff, residents, prospects, and vendors.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service to residents, families and prospects and promotes the community in a positive manner.
  • Strong skills diagnosing maintenance problems and resolving issues within budget.
  • Basic familiarity with computers.
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Technician works within the Senior Living Community and on community grounds. The position may expose the employee to communicable diseases, infection, injury from transferring, repositioning, or lifting residents, latex, blood‑borne pathogens, chemicals, infectious or biological hazards, and pets. The position may also be exposed to hot/cold temperatures, adverse weather, wet/humid conditions, toxic fumes, odors, pathogens, dusts, and pollens. Position may require working weekends and/or holidays as assigned.
