POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance and Housekeeping Supervisor, the Summer Maintenance staff members will maintain a safe, professional, respectful, and positive atmosphere for our members and guests. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The length of this position runs approximately 10 weeks from May through August from 11 am through 3 pm.

- Work will be performed indoors and outdoors and may require occasional travel
- Must have visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to respond swiftly in an emergency situation.
- Ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms at heights up to 30ft
- Ability to work with paint, cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms
- Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform position functions
- Must be able to coordinate a variety of large and small tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to handle stress and tension in a positive manner
- Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust
- Ability to perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but is not limited to the following activities: semi-reaching to full‑reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, shoveling, carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces that may be underground, overhead or at ground level. Twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs and lying on the stomach and/or back.
