Job Summary

Dynalectric Company San Diego is hiring for a Fleet Maintenance Technician. Under the supervision of the Fleet Manager, the position will be responsible for performing fleet inspections, basic & preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting and diagnostics. Other responsibilities include shuttling, fueling & vehicle upfitting. The individual will collaborate with other warehouse personnel, company management, and outside vendors to ensure each aspect of the job is performed efficiently and thoroughly.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform basic routine inspections and diagnostics, e.g., brake inspections, tire inspections, fluid level checks, electrical testing, engine diagnostic scanning.
  • Perform basic maintenance operations, e.g., oil changes, 100k mile service, brake repairs, electrical repairs, battery replacements, tune-ups, and transmission services.
  • Diagnose and repair small gasoline engines, e.g., generators, compressors, and forklifts.
  • Shuttle vehicles to and from outside repair shops.
  • Shuttle vehicles to and from assigned drivers when required.
  • Build and upfit new fleet vehicles, including tool boxes, inverters, and alarm systems.
  • Accurately install and remove vehicle logos and decals.
  • Prep vehicles for turnover or reassignment.
  • Track and report parts used, maintain required inventory of stocked parts.
  • Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips and submit report indicating truck condition.
  • Assist workers in unloading and loading trucks when required.
  • Maintain inventory records.
  • Work a 40-hour work week, with occasional overtime.
  • Follow all traffic laws, be courteous to other drivers, and understand the importance of representing the company and providing a positive image.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

Must Have
  • Must enroll with the union.
  • Able to pass a drug screen.
  • Able to learn and operate the company’s tools and handling material.
Required Attributes
  • One year on-the-job experience in the automotive repair industry.
  • One year automotive classes or technical school, or equivalent experience.
  • Mandatory clean driving record.
  • Strong mechanical understanding of vehicle maintenance operations and OBD2 systems.
  • Demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism and commitment to company values.
  • Must build positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees, management, customers, and partners, and influence employees in a positive and honest manner.
  • Be safety- and detail-oriented.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Language Skills

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.

Work Environment

The noise level in the warehouse is usually moderate to loud.

Compensation Range

$25.00 - $30.00/hour.
