Overview

Lo-Har Senior Living is currently seeking a Housekeeper to join our team of dedicated professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, their families and our community. We are guided by our CAPLICO Core Values:

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the CAPLICO Core Values and Code of Conduct are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies at all times.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
  • Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of Housekeeping Aide.
  • Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping services with the Wellness department when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
  • Perform day‑to‑day housekeeping functions as assigned.
  • Report any perceived change in a resident’s condition, daily habits, or routine to the Wellness department.
  • Perform cleaning duties within the following areas: resident rooms, common areas, hallways, stairways, elevators and other areas as assigned by your Supervisor or Administrator.
  • Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
  • Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.
  • Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
  • Clean floors and carpet, including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
  • Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
  • Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
  • Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
  • Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times, including before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day.
  • Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers.
  • Ensure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies to perform daily tasks is maintained in utility/janitorial closets.
  • Report damaged or inoperable fixtures in a timely manner.
  • Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as directed or requested.
  • Follow established fire safety policies and procedures; wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc.) as required when lifting or moving heavy objects.
  • Ensure that assigned work areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
  • Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning.
  • Refer to manufacturer’s instructions when necessary.
  • Follow established policies governing the use of labels and safety data sheets (SDS).
  • Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor.
  • Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are followed when performing housekeeping procedures.
  • Participate in in‑service training programs prior to performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or hazardous chemicals.
  • Dispose of refuse daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by your Supervisor or the Executive Director.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred). No experience required. On‑the‑job training provided.

Compensation

Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour.
