Operations Supervisor – Washout Facility

TAS Environmental Services is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor – Washout Facility to oversee the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the El Dorado washout facility. This is a hands‑on supervisory position responsible for daily facility operations, tanker and equipment washouts, hazardous and non‑hazardous waste handling, wastewater management, employees, equipment, safety, and customer service. The Operations Supervisor is expected to lead the team while also actively performing washout, cleaning, waste‑handling, and other facility activities when operational needs require.

Principal

Responsibilities Operations & Facility Oversight
  • Direct and coordinate daily facility operations, staffing, equipment, workflow, and operational priorities.
  • Perform and supervise washout and cleaning of tankers, vacuum equipment, roll‑off boxes, containers, and other industrial equipment.
  • Review product, waste, SDS, and available material information to determine appropriate cleaning and handling requirements.
  • Coordinate equipment staging, cleaning, inspection, turnaround, and release.
  • Maintain efficient workflow while ensuring established quality and customer service expectations are met.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Transportation, Dispatch, and other TAS departments regarding equipment and operational needs.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and operationally ready facility.
Hands‑On Operations
  • Work directly alongside technicians and operators as workload and staffing require.
  • Operate pressure‑washing systems, pumps, hoses, vacuum equipment, and other applicable tools.
  • Assist with waste transfers, loading and unloading, equipment setup, cleanup, and decontamination.
  • Participate in housekeeping and general facility maintenance.
  • Demonstrate proper work practices and provide hands‑on training and direction to employees.
Safety, Environmental & Waste Compliance
  • Ensure hazardous and non‑hazardous waste is properly handled, segregated, stored, labeled, documented, transferred, and disposed of.
  • Review applicable waste profiles, manifests, SDSs, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure wastewater generated through washout operations is properly collected, managed, treated, and/or discharged in accordance with established requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, DOT, EPA/RCRA, hazardous‑material, wastewater, confined‑space, and TAS safety requirements.
  • Ensure required PPE is available and properly utilized.
  • Exercise stop‑work authority when unsafe conditions, unknown materials, incompatibility concerns, or environmental risks are identified.
  • Participate in incident investigations, near‑miss reviews, inspections, and corrective actions.
People Leadership
  • Provide direct supervision, daily work assignments, and operational direction to assigned employees.
  • Train and coach employees on washout procedures, waste handling, equipment operation, safety, documentation, housekeeping, and customer expectations.
  • Monitor employee performance, productivity, attendance, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Address performance or conduct concerns timely and reinforce accountability, communication, and safe work practices.
Customer, Equipment & Documentation
  • Serve as an operational point of contact for customers utilizing the facility.
  • Communicate service requirements, scheduling, equipment status, acceptance criteria, and turnaround expectations.
  • Work with TAS Operations and Sales to support customer retention and facility growth.
  • Inspect facility equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain adequate operating supplies, cleaning materials, and PPE.
  • Ensure work orders, service records, inspections, waste documentation, and other required operational records are completed accurately and timely.
  • Provide leadership with updates regarding workload, staffing, equipment, customer needs, waste inventory, and safety or compliance concerns.
Requirements Qualifications Required
