Custodial Technician BOE

Position Summary

Butler Community College believes our facilities are the foundation of student success. We are seeking a Custodial Technician to help create a safe, welcoming, and high‑performing campus. This role goes beyond cleaning; it is a vital part of a community dedicated to lifelong learning.

• Deep clean classrooms, laboratories, offices, and high‑traffic areas such as lobbies and restrooms.
• Set up and tear down furniture for lectures, conferences, and athletic events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Neat in personal appearance.
• Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license.
• Able to lift 50 pounds without limitations.
• Able to climb, stoop, bend, and work in awkward positions.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and work independently from direct supervision.
• Must have knowledge of basic computer fundamentals.
• Must be able to drive college vehicles, including large vans and trucks.
• Must show pride in workmanship.
• Maintain good working relationships with college/community persons and trades.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends for emergencies or events.
• Flexible in working hours and able to adapt to unscheduled activities.
• Must be able to work split shifts and late hours, if needed.
• Must be in general good physical health.

Required experience: Must have practical knowledge of custodial duties and associated equipment and cleaning solvents.

Required educational background: High school diploma or equivalent required.

M‑Th: 2:00 PM – 10:45 PM; F: 11:00 AM – 7:45 PM

Hourly rate: $15.65/hr
