Maintenance Tech​/Security

Essential Functions

• Monitor plant equipment such as boilers, air handling units, air conditioning systems, medical gases, etc. Performs general repair and updating of hospital buildings.
• Perform duties of hospital Security, making routine rounds of the grounds and buildings.
• Pick‑up and empty trash containers at various locations as per schedule or as needed.
• Document all repairs and inspections performed on equipment and hospital buildings.
• Perform preventive maintenance duties and maintain all equipment and buildings under Environmental Services.
• Respond to maintenance requests and pages from all departments.
• Work as relief as scheduled to cover maintenance and security personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of heating and air conditioning, plumbing, basic electricity, carpentry, reading blueprints, and strong mechanical ability.
• High School graduate with some college or technical school training.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in plumbing, heating, and air conditioning or construction (may be a combination).
• None required for certification or licensure.
• Ability to activate Code Blue system by dialing 200.

May require frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting. Occasionally lifts up to 60 lbs. Occasionally required to carry up to 60 lbs. May require occasional pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movement such as changing AC filters and preventive maintenance on equipment. May frequently work in extreme heat, extreme cold, and outdoor work. Requires working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours.

Some exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials is required. Requires correct vision to normal range and correct hearing.

Work may be scheduled on any shift, with regular weekends and some holidays. Irregular hours and on‑call duties may apply.
