Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 per hour. The hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:45 pm. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Maintenance Technician will support the Technical Services department by helping to drive continuous improvement in the electrical assembly operations. This is achieved by maintaining fabrication and production equipment in optimal condition, completing PMs, and minimizing downtime. The position will support operations, capital assets maintenance (equipment, machinery, building, etc.), and other duties as needed.

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment
• Read and interpret technical diagrams
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair equipment using a systematic process to identify root cause (electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic)
• Complete work on continuous improvement activities related to the equipment and facility (5S+, TPM, Set Up Reduction, etc.)
• Assist with outside contractors on various plant projects and repairs
• Overtime during weekdays and/or weekends may be needed to support the Maintenance Technician functions

• Education and Minimum Experience Requirements
• Experience in metal fabrication processes and equipment
• Minimum three (3) years of experience at a manufacturing site
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics
• No relocation is provided for this position; only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX facility will be considered

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the industrial maintenance field
• Knowledge of PLC electronic controls
• Strong electrical background and experience
• Strong metal fabrication experience including CNCs, lathes, punch and bend equipment
• Two (2) year technical degree or certification in electronics, electrical power and controls, fluid power, or basic PLC programming
• Basic skills in reading and writing in English and Spanish

• Able to utilize hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics in troubleshooting scenarios
• Knowledge and experience in commercial/industrial building trades
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows-based software
• Problem-solving skills/Strong verbal communication skills/Strong teamwork
• Proficiency with verbal and written communications
• Ability to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical/electronic testing devices
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a highly unstructured and ambiguous environment
