Installation Technician
Job Summary
Field Engineer – Structured Cabling will be able to install and operate most types of low‑voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.
Compensation: USD 32.00–35.00 per hour.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems in a senior service support role, testing and verifying system components, connections, labels, and overall installation quality.
- Interpret advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
- Create shop drawings and submit submittals for new project kick‑off.
- Manage technical work in the field with minimal supervision.
- Provide advanced support for field installation staff, assisting the field staff and project manager.
- Assist with maintaining and completing project punch‑lists for project close‑outs.
- Oversee the technical aspects of projects and conduct quality checks, testing all equipment and functionality, and creating punch lists.
- Assist sales staff with product and system demonstrations as needed.
- Handle other responsibilities as assigned.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Self‑motivated, positive, professional, and capable of leading others to create, develop and implement process improvements.
- Proven problem‑solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, including oral presentations.
- Ability to diagnose and fix problems with existing equipment and new installations.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and critical thinker, with excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints, specifications, reports and quality requirements.
- Willingness and ability to travel within branch or regional territory as needed.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalency required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - At least 3–4 years of commercial low‑voltage/structured cabling experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Excellent driving record meeting company standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and define project scope, tasks, and deliverables.

License: Required. No minimum education beyond high school.
