Maintains floors of facility to ensure a clean and well‑maintained environment. Under general direction, maintains all facility floors and hard surfaces to ensure a clean and well‑maintained environment. Performs preventative maintenance on special floor equipment.

• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a positive attitude.
• Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
• Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.

• Ability to communicate with co‑workers and other department staff with professionalism and respect.
• Knowledge of environmental services processes and procedures.

• One year of work‑related experience utilizing various floor equipment (i.e. burnishers, auto scrubbers, side‑by‑side buffers, steamers).

High School diploma or equivalent education preferred.
