Church Attendant

Church Attendant - $12.00/HOUR A church in Central El Paso needs a Church Attendant. The Church Attendant provides general support for the physical facility, worship services, and church gatherings to help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming environment for members, visitors, and guests. This position assists with event setup and teardown, light facility maintenance, guest services, and various tasks supporting the pastoral and administrative teams.

Key Responsibilities Setup & Teardown Arrange and reset chairs, tables, and other equipment for worship services, meetings, weddings, funerals, and special events. Assist with preparing rooms and common areas before scheduled gatherings. Break down and store tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies following events. Ensure facilities are returned to a clean and organized condition after services and events. Facility Maintenance Perform light cleaning and general upkeep of the church facility.

Clean and maintain designated areas, including common areas and event spaces. Restock restroom, cleaning, and other facility supplies as needed. Monitor the facility for potential maintenance, safety, or security concerns. Report significant maintenance issues, hazards, or needed repairs to the appropriate staff member. Assist with opening and securing the facility as assigned. Guest & Member Services Greet members, visitors, and guests in a friendly and respectful manner.

Provide basic information and directions regarding services, events, rooms, and facilities. Assist attendees with locating designated areas during worship services and special events. Help create a welcoming and orderly environment for all guests. Staff & Event Support Assist pastoral and administrative staff with general support tasks. Move and organize boxes, supplies, furniture, and other materials as needed. Assist with errands and other minor tasks related to church operations.

Support weddings, funerals, worship services, and other special events as assigned. Lock and secure doors, lights, equipment, and other areas of the facility when closing. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills Dependable and punctual, with consistent attendance, particularly for weekend worship services and scheduled events. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move moderate weights, typically 25–50 pounds. Ability to safely move chairs, tables, boxes, and other equipment. Friendly, respectful, and professional demeanor. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Helpful, cooperative attitude when working with church members, visitors, volunteers, and staff.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Good attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety. Ability to maintain a professional and respectful presence in a church environment. Work Environment &

Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and moving equipment and supplies. The Church Attendant may work indoors and occasionally outdoors and must be available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events as scheduled.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull. Ability to safely move furniture and event equipment.
