The Material Handler supports Facilities and Corporate Services operations across a 1,000,000 square foot corporate campus serving approximately 1,800 employees. This role is responsible for event setup and breakdown, office furniture moves, day porter services, and maintenance inspections across multiple campus locations.
The Material Handler plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean, and highly functional workplace environment, ensuring facilities operations and employee‑facing services are delivered efficiently and professionally.
Facilities & Event Support- Set up and break down event spaces, including tables, chairs, staging, equipment, and related materials.
- Support conference room and common area readiness to ensure professional presentation.
- Coordinate transport of materials, equipment, and supplies between multiple campus locations.
- Assist to coordinate and execute internal office furniture moves and reconfigurations.
- Provide day porter services including light cleaning, supply replenishment, spill response, and maintaining common areas.
- Conduct routine campus inspections to identify cleanliness, safety, and maintenance concerns.
- Report facility issues promptly and assist with corrective actions as directed.
- Ensure proper handling of furniture, fixtures, and event equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts as needed.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Use proper lifting techniques and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain clear pathways and safe material staging practices throughout campus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in material handling, facilities support, corporate campus operations, hospitality services, or related field.
- Experience supporting event setup and office furniture moves preferred.
- Experience in a large corporate or multi‑building campus environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of facilities operations and workplace services.
- Understanding of safe material handling practices.
- Familiarity with event setup logistics and space configurations.
- General knowledge of workplace safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic campus environment.
- Basic problem‑solving skills.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Customer‑service mindset with professional demeanor.
- Ability to safely lift and transport materials and equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Facilities, Corporate Services, and external vendors.
- Ability to respond quickly to urgent service requests.
- Ability to maintain professionalism while interacting with employees at all levels.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on campus operational needs.
- Frequent standing and walking throughout a 1,000,000 sq. ft. campus.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Ability to work indoors across multiple campus buildings.
* The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
