Camden County College (CCC) invites applications for a temporary part‑time maintenance/general position. The role requires versatile and reliable support across all CCC campuses and the Regional Emergency Training Center.
Special Instructions- Must perform snow removal in and around college buildings, including roadways on various campuses.
- Must be available by phone 24/7 as essential personnel; capable of responding to calls and providing assistance within an hour.
- Must be willing to work the necessary hours to meet changing workload demands or complete assigned projects.
General Maintenance employees support CCC’s strategic goals for infrastructure development, sustainability, and maintenance. Tasks involve routine facility upkeep, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient learning environment.
Responsibilities- Work directly with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment, appliances, lights, receptacles, windows, roofs, plumbing, furniture, toilets, and other college assets.
- Repair and install locks, doors, and windows.
- Perform carpentry, masonry, painting, roofing, and plumbing tasks below journeyman level.
- Repair, lubricate, and complete preventive maintenance on machinery, motors, and equipment.
- Follow a Preventative Maintenance Program for daily and seasonal maintenance, including checklists and inspections.
- Keep an accurate inventory of all power and hand tools and maintain them in a neat, orderly fashion.
- Observe and report deficiencies to the Building Operations Manager or Manager of Physical Plant and Projects.
- Provide preventive and predictive maintenance for equipment, motors, gauges, emergency generators, compressors, etc.
- Complete maintenance work requests and keep a log of completed and pending items.
- Respond to emergencies and be available for emergency overtime, including snow plowing.
- Submit annual budget recommendations for new or replacement equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- At least five years of directly related experience in commercial/industrial electrical, mechanical, carpentry, lock, plumbing, flooring, flat roofing, or painting work.
- Ability to climb ladders and lift and carry 50 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports.
- Ability to read construction blueprints.
- Valid driver’s license.
All locations;
Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:00 pm.
Published Salary Range: $30 per hour.
