Recreation Worker I – Hopewell Township, Mercer

Public Works Department is seeking a qualified and dependable individual to fill the position of Recreation Maintenance Worker I in the Public Works Department. This full‑time position is responsible for maintenance and repairs of various equipment, set‑up of events and functions, and other related duties required for the Recreation Department.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Mowing lawns, trimming and removing shrubs, trees, and brush.
• Laying and painting of various athletic fields.
• Emptying trash and recycling containers.
• Operating small equipment in performing recreation maintenance tasks, including driving a truck to support the Public Works Road Department.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s license within 12 months of appointment.
• Knowledge of the operation of various grounds maintenance equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written explanations.
• Compulsory background check, physical, drug and alcohol test, and driver's license check.

Benefits:
Starting salary at $54,643.94. AFSCME salary and benefits available.
